September 2008 Member of the Month - Cathy Lair

September’s member of the month is Cathy Lair. Cathy is a Loudoun County native, born and raised. She has an older sister and younger brother. Cathy’s spouse is named Mandi. They were recently married on June 21st in Toronto Canada in a small ceremony. They have a 5 year old son named Kody. Cathy has several hobbies which include hockey, surfing and sleeping. Luckily, with her current knee injury, she will still be able to sleep. Cathy works at Physicians Transport Service utilizing her EMT B skills and knowledge on a daily basis. Cathy joined Loudoun County Volunteer Rescue Squad in July 2004. She is currently on the Saturday and Sunday night crew running every other weekend. She has also taken on the role of our Events Coordinator. Cathy has been very proactive in coordinating requests for standby events. Over the last few months she has liaisoned with the county, town, and independent agencies requesting our services. Cathy has always shown a willingness to help and has really run with this challenge. This internal volunteer position stays busy practically year round. Because Cathy has done a very good job with her new role, she is Septembers’ member of the month.
